✅ Learn how keyboards turn taps into letters on-screen.

✅ Discover special keys and their secret functions.

✅ Understand why keyboards look the same worldwide!

1. How Does a Keyboard Work?

Keyboards are like super-fast messengers between you and the computer:

  1. Press a Key: A tiny circuit closes under the key.
  2. Signal Sent: The keyboard tells the CPU which key you pressed.
  3. Screen Shows: The letter/number appears!

⚡ Fun Fact:

The CPU checks the keyboard 100+ times per second to see if you typed anything!

Activity:

Unplug your keyboard while typing—what happens? (Spoiler: Letters freeze!)

2. Keyboard Layouts Around the World

Most keyboards use QWERTY (named after the first 6 letters). But some countries are different!

Layout Country Unique Feature
QWERTY USA, UK Standard layout
AZERTY France Swaps A/Q, Z/W
QWERTZ Germany Z and Y swapped
